  Patreon Goal towards autoupdating

I think this would be a nice goal for stable builds and nightlies.

Maybe the goal could be $500 per month.

Noobie here, so i have a question!
Posted by: Bani - 10-01-2016, 05:44 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hi everyone I am new here, so do not have a lot of experience on emulators.

After Pokemon Go became popular I just wanted to see if it was possible to play the gameboy games online and then a website, which you guys perhaps are familiar with called http://emulator.online/

So have playing some of the pokemon games and saved the progress so far. The savefiles are in the swf.save format.

So I found a lot of these walkthrough videos on youtube and learned about emulators, so you could use gameshark and trade etc.

After a while with unsuccesful results I finally found mGBA and works perfectly on a Mac. So finally to my question can I use swf files in this emulator, so I can continue on my journey or shall start all over in the emulator?

Trading in Pokemon Fire Red, ie the GBA link?
Posted by: Annorax - 09-24-2016, 10:25 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Hi all,

Is it possible somehow using mGBA to trade Pokemon in Pokemon Fire Red and the likes using an emulated GBA link? Even if it's something as simple as running 2 instances of the emulator and trading with yourself would be very nice to have.

Question Where are save states located?
Posted by: fisher521 - 09-24-2016, 03:46 AM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hi everyone, I played Pokemon Ruby on my iPhone using GBA4iOS, and backed up my save to Dropbox. After GBA4iOS got revoked, I downloaded mGBA for my PC, and loaded the save from Dropbox. Then I played for a while, and used a save state. I want to turn the save state into a save game later and put it in my Dropbox, so I can play Pokemon on my phone and PC.

However, I don't know where the save states are saved to. What is the location of save states and save games, and is there a way to change it? If I could save directly to Dropbox, it would be great.

Thanks for your time.

  REQ: Dot Matrix Shader
Posted by: MotM - 09-23-2016, 01:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hello,

I've been searching the net for a shader that simulates the dot matrix effect, but to no avail. I believe it's some kind of CRT shader.

In Pete's OpenGL2 plugin for ePSXe, this effect is also present (Click image to get a closer view):

Does a shader that creates this effect exist for mGBA?

Kind regards,

GB and GBC games running slow.
Posted by: uVSthem - 09-20-2016, 04:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

I just downloaded mGBA 0.5.0 to try out the GB and GBC support. Both platforms run ridiculously slow on my system with mGBA reporting anywhere from 0.5 t0 19 FPS. If I go into the settings Tools/Settings menu and click apply, then GB and GBC games run no problem. I have to do this in the settings menu every time I load a GB or GBC game so I assume it’s a bug with some setting not getting saved. GBA games run without any issues. If anyone has any ideas pleas let me know.

I’m running Windows 10 64bit with 2 Nvidia 980s in SLI, 16 Gigs Ram and Intel Core i7-4790K

I found something new.  If I hit the fast forward button the game will speed up and then resume at the correct speed. I don't have to go into the settings menu.

Posted by: Mclane - 09-20-2016, 02:52 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Hi there, just playing with the brand new version, loaded up Minish cap and added 2 codebreaker cheats to it and tried to save the cheats then crash...

As said its MGBA 0.5.0 on Windows 7 X64, No UAC in use, running off a caddy, all other stuff seems to work and crashed on the nightly builds too..

Any idea's please..

Games seem fine, just the saving of the cheat...

Game override saving also crashes MGBA..
