Official mGBA Ports
SNES emulation suffers from issues such as the ''FX chip'', my question is: is there anything similar on game boy advance?.. I mean something that would prevent the emulation to run 100%

No, the GBA doesn't use enhancement chips like the Snes.

There are a handful of cartridges with odd hardware in them:
  • Gyroscope (WarioWare Twisted!, already supported)
  • Tilt sensor (Yoshi's Topsy-Turvy, already supported)
  • RTC (Pokemon RSE, already supported)
  • Light sensor (Boktai series, already supported)
  • Rumble (Drill Dozer, already supported)
  • Card scanner (e-Reader, WIP)
  • MP3/MP4 decoder (Play-Yan, undocumented)
  • Matrix mapper (GBA Video, unsupported)

Note that most of them are already supported, e-Reader is well documented and a WIP, and the rest are just for media players that give you bad quality stuff anyway. Those may never be emulated, but are really only worthwhile if you really like bad quality playback of higher quality media for some reason.

I see that mGBA 0.4.0 has the option to choose paths for saves and other things. Will that be available in the Wii port sometime?

Also, would it be possible that the L and R buttons on the gamecube controller worked with a half press instead of a full press?

Amazing Wii port ! THanks

May I ask if the developer could someday make a simple, very simple SNES emulator?

Truth to be told: every SNES emulator is bad on Wii

Retroarch (both cores) crashes even playing Super Mario World
Snes9x Gx is decent but also can't handle much hours of gameplay.

It's sad that after almost 11 years there is no good emulation on SNES

Anyway, just wanted to talk you for the 0.40
I was using the latest nightly yesterday and had no problems with it Smile

Really liked the "filter" feature.

there was a new snes9x-gx version posted by gbatemp member "burnt lasagna"

this fixes a lot of the speed issues in that emulator

Have you tried RetroArch 1.2.2 instead? Snes9x Next runs fine, GX is far worse actually.

Also @Endrift, uh, is there a reason the file browser shows all GBA types, including save files?

Yes and every stable release.

Retroarch will never run ok because I told them months ago they could stop adding fancy stuff and focus on fixing bugs that were actually easy to fix ....... they told me "thinking too small"

The only release that don't crash after 4 or 5 hours is 1.0.0.2
