  Some controller issues
Posted by: InFluxx - 07-07-2017, 02:42 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

So, I recently switched from VBA-M to mGBA, as I've heard that it's a much better emulator overall. So far it seems that way. However, I'm having serious problems with my XInput controller. The controls that I set are not what ends up in game, and they don't always save. I'm using the nightly build from 7/6/17.

Rainbow How to Remove Default Background
Posted by: kenoi - 07-04-2017, 02:44 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Hi, I've recently switched my GB games library from VBA-M to mGBA (QT). So far so good, although I did run into a few ROMs that now display fuzz instead of playing proper. I will experiment some more with that, and let you know the results.

My first question has to do with the UI and it's much simpler: is there any way to remove the big icon background in mGBA that appears while no ROMs are loaded and just have a clean, black background instead? I'm used to that look with VBA, and it would look much-much neater on my desktop.

I imagine there is a way.

I think it would be wise to include an optional launch parameter to hide it, or an option in the settings.

Thanks,
K

And thanks for working on improving the GBA emulation scene. ^_^  Heart

  Up in emulator not reading
Posted by: bellsworth46 - 07-03-2017, 03:26 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

I cannot get up in the emulator to respond. Every other button works fine. In some games, it continuously reads up, while others don't read up at all. I have tried both 0.5.2 and 0.6.b1. I'm running Windows 10. I have tried switching what button is the input, to no avail. The only thing that I can think that could be causing the issue is that I have VJoy installed, but I don't see how that would be causing problems. Any help would be appreciated.

  Trouble with 128kb saves for pokemon ROM hacks on Wii
Posted by: Bionicobot - 06-23-2017, 09:50 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

So, of all the GBA emulators available on the Wii, this one seems to run the fastest. However, all GBA emulators have trouble with detecting pokemon ROM hack save types, specifically 128kb. I have tried both the latest release and latest nightly, yet see no Override option for this. As I have limited access to a computer, having a single tablet with internet access, which sends data via bluetooth over to another tablet with a micro SD card slot, which goes into a USB adapter, and then is transfered to a regular SD card via Wiixplorer, I can't access the identifier for the ROM hack. If it helps, the hack is Pokemon Normal version.

  Shaders edit
Posted by: gadesx - 05-31-2017, 11:22 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hi, I tried to edit some shaders, the author=endrift, ags001.shader
I'm only testing change values because I don't know programmation.

I tried to make the pixel to appear as separated like blocks simply, something like LCD Shader,
based in ags001.shader

mainly on     arrayX[0] = vec3(0.8, 0.8, 0.8);
                   arrayY[0] = vec3(0.8, 0.8, 0.8);
that values changes the RGB strength of the blocks around the pixels

I can put the files if endrift see this ok

  Cannot figure out this controller setup screen!
Posted by: Talkashie - 05-30-2017, 09:58 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

I've just switched over to this emulator after having a myriad of issues with VBA, and I am liking it so far. One major issue I am having right now is that I can't seem to change any of the options on the "Controllers Settings" menu. Hitting the refresh button seems to change everything, pushing buttons on my controller doesn't change any of the settings, and "set all" seems to do nothing.

Please, please, could you simplify the controller setup screen? Am I missing something obvious here, or am I just too stupid to figure this out? Sad

EDIT: Been messing with it for about an hour, still can't get it to work right. Mapping a button seems to inexplicably change another mapped button. Hitting "refresh" also seems to change my settings.

  Wireless
Posted by: SilverTheGamer - 05-28-2017, 11:33 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I know that GBA wireless will be added, but, i'm not saying you should do it now, or even this year, but will you add DS wireless functionality at one point? No other DS emulator has it, and you like implementing things other emulators don't bother with.

Sad Set mGBA to default settings
Posted by: Bingo - 05-28-2017, 05:55 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hi everyone, I would like to set back the emulator to its original settings, the reason is I been playing around with all the configurations ( even keyboard combinations )to see wich one worked better for me, now that I know I would like to set mGBA to its default settings and then change only the settings that I know work better for my pc, I tried deleting the containing folder, and downloading again but the previous set up remains so there must be a config file somewhere in my PC that I cant find. I have windows 8.1, any help?

Been able to find a solution, I will mention it in case anyone else needs it, the config file for mGBA its created in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming/mGBA folder, there its save personal configuration made to the emulator, in case you would like to reset to default everything just delete it, you may need to enable file option to see hidden files in windows to access AppData file
