Messed up controller + changing palettes?
Posted by: ddubs - 05-25-2019, 07:18 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

I joined the mGBA forums just so I could get some help.

I'm playing mGBA through Steam and with a Switch Pro Controller, but the mappings keep messing up every time I close the settings. UP no longer works and LEFT becomes A. The same thing happens when I use either an Xbox One controller or a DS4 Controller.

Also, how do you change palettes? Is that a feature? I found old forum posts where admins said they were working on it, but that was 2 years ago. I can change the default palette, but I can't save or load palettes.

  Metroid: Zero Mission (Randomized) crash
Posted by: Nicholas Steel - 05-22-2019, 06:28 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Required:
Randomizer program (download link in the first post): http://forum.metroidconstruction.com/ind...559.0.html
mGBA v0.7.1: http://mgba.io/downloads.html
Metroid: Zero Mission (USA)
Gameboy Advance BIOS

The game it self seemingly crashed right here https://imgur.com/a/dX6bufT without crashing the program. I double checked that I didn't accidentally toggle Pause. This was about 10 to 15 minutes after making the transition from VisualBoyAdvance M to mGBA 0.7.1

Also annoyingly the Emulator doesn't log a bunch of stuff by default so when I go to view logs... it's an empty window.

Rewinding emulation allows me to continue... thankfully.

I just now noticed that going in to the Settings causes the Log Viewer to reset its configuration... (the tick boxes on the left change)

  Screenshot Button Issues
Posted by: BlueberryPancakes - 05-15-2019, 04:57 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

I have been having a problem with mGBA saving the button that I want to use to take screenshots. Originally it was set to F12, but using it only adjusted the brightness of my laptop screen. I changed it to the + button instead, but every time I close mGBA out, it doesn't map the screenshot command to any button so I have to set my preference again when I reopen it.

Is there any way that I can prevent having to set this up every time I reopen the game?

  mGBA 7.1 Loading Crash
Posted by: Dontejohnson468 - 05-08-2019, 11:44 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

I installed version 0.7.1 of the emulator onto my New 3DS,
but every time I load up any GBA rom, it instantly crashes
when the "Loading..." message is displayed on the touch screen.

Can anyone please tell me how to fix this issue?

  mGBA for 3DS
Posted by: manf0001 - 04-27-2019, 08:06 AM - Forum: Development - Replies (1)

Hello,

I am wondering if these features will be implemented into the mGBA for the 3ds.

1) Will Mutliplayer for GB, and GBA games be available for the 3DS?

2) This would be a nice feature, but is there a way to play original gameboy games with the original Green?

3) Would be nice to see Border support too

Thanks

  Help with adding Borders
Posted by: Gameboydayz - 04-26-2019, 08:24 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

I am currently running the wii version of mgba and can't find any tutorial specific to the wii. Would be great to have a border instead of the boring empty black space, I have seen a few good borders such as a full sized game boy advance and one of the best is one that has shaders that give an effect that makes the screen seem like it has scan-lines.

  Buffer Size Issue
Posted by: JohnsonMcMahon - 04-13-2019, 08:13 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

I get stutters whenever my computers ASIO buffer size isn't set to 512, is there any reason for this? I don't suffer any issues like this in other programs or games

  Video issues with various games
Posted by: Arodyrok - 04-13-2019, 05:11 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

I'm having issues in various games. My issue is that every second or so the games video will "Stutter" or skip a frame. It happens often enough that it is distracting. I've played a handful of games (all pokemon) from all 3 gameboy generations and the issue was present in every game I play.

In the audio/video settings I have tried changing the audio buffer, as I've seen a couple of other people were having similar issues in the past. Each setting had varying amounts of success but the default is the best that I can see. I also tried changing the sample rate, but it had no effect.

Next I tried syncing to video instead of audio. It completely tanked my framerate and the game was running at half speed or worse. Syncing to both does the same thing. Playing with the FPS target hasn't improved the stutter. I tried enabling/disabling "Lock aspect ratio," "Forced Integer scaling," and "bilinear filtering" with various combinations, but it didn't help my issue.

I then tried to change the display drivers. Both of the OpenGL drivers had the same issues. The SoftwareQT did fix the stuttering issues but movement was really choppy and some of the sprites (trees mostly) would flicker when I walked. I have tried multiple versions of mGBA including the latest (0.7.1 as of this post). I have deleted the config file multiple times to reset the settings to default after big troubleshooting steps.

--------------------------
About my system.

I am running Windows 10
My GPU is AMD integrated graphics (I'm on a laptop.)
I'm on a x64 system
My monitor has a 60hz refresh rate.
---------------------------

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I'm having multiple issues with mGBA but all of the other ones I can work around or deal with. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I did make sure my display drivers and Windows were all updated.

Question Gameboy advance intro ?
Posted by: GBA Lover - 04-10-2019, 11:27 PM - Forum: Development - Replies (1)

I've been wondering about something and that is the gameboy advance intro , you can add it as an additional feature ( turned off by default ) so every time a game is turning on the intro will play

I know you can do it ,Can't You ?  =)

I want to feel the nostalgia you know.
