Fast forward speed (Held) Broken since 0.8.0
Posted by: Enelhawk - 02-21-2020, 12:33 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

<p>As the title says, the fast forward speed held has been broken since 0.8.0 for me. 0.8.1 doesn't fix it but it's okay in 0.7.3.<br>What's going on? Im the only affected? It simply doesn't work, just breaks the audio.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hi, I'm liking your new version of mGBA on the 3DS. &nbsp; The improvement to be able to play the Wisdom tree games is wonderful it really elevates this product, as every gameboy emulator can't properly play those games.</p><p><br></p><p>I'm wondering if there is a way to play the original game boy games with the Green/Black screen other than the black and white.&nbsp; Would an awesome add on.</p><p><br></p><p>Many thanks and awesome work.<br></p><p><br></p>

Feature request: save as Animated PNG?
Posted by: Rin Tohsaka - 02-08-2020, 09:36 PM - Forum: Development - Replies (4)

I tried out the built-in recording/exporting function for the first time today and realized that a "save as Animated PNG" function could be a good intermediate between a full-fat lossless video recording and a 256 color-limited GIF. Now normally Animated PNGs with their full 24bit color palettes can get pretty large, but the GBA's 240x160 resolution is small enough and the graphics typically pixelated enough that animated PNGs of GBA games tend to actually compress pretty well, especially if they're optimized accordingly with regards to inter-frame compression (which I only mention because unfortunately there's quite a bit of APNG-creation software that creates completely unoptimized animations whereby each frame is fully stored as full-resolution PNGs, even if only one quadrant of the image actually updates) I don't know how useful the following would be for mGBA, but APNG Optimizer seems to be the go-to example of efficient inter-frame optimization and it does have a source available: https://sourceforge.net/projects/apng/fi...Optimizer/

how to perform a clean uninstall on Mac?
Posted by: zieme666 - 02-03-2020, 06:30 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hey guys, first of all I would like to thank all of you for the amazing work you have done with this emulator! However I was wondering if it is possible to delete the app completely from the system. I've messed around with the settings and suffer some display issues as a result. Nothing unfixable but I would like do reset mgba completely and start all over with my evil shader experiments Wink I am actually using a little helper tool called "AppCleaner" to find all files related to an application. In this case unfortunately mgba always remembers all of my previous settings even after I deleted all the files I could find. I found these two folders:

"Library/Saved Application State/com.endrift.mgba-qt.savedState" and "/var/folders/fw/5c9pl8t1497fmgwpqOp9lvvr0000gn/C/com.endrift.mgba-qt"

is there any other file which saves further information about the app or a cleaner way to delete mgba and start all over?

Thanks for helping out with this...

  Feature request: Configurable save directory
Posted by: Grondorr - 01-10-2020, 07:35 AM - Forum: Development - Replies (1)

<p>In many flash carts, there is a single save dir. I'd like the option to emulate this behaviour so that I can match the layout of my files and just keep the two in sync. Also, this way if I have multiple copies of the same ROM with the same file ane, but in different directories, I can have them save to the same file in the&nbsp;savedir. (I'm mostly looking to do this on 3DS and eventually switch.)</p>

  Help with Saves
Posted by: DengerousCurry - 01-01-2020, 10:46 AM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hey man! Love your emulator, first started using it back in college a few years ago. Recently felt like downloading shiny gold sigma (fire red hack) for nostalgia trip, and found I couldn’t change save state to flash 128k. I couldn’t do the game override thing I used to, and I couldn’t find the config.ini file. Any tips to make it happen?

Love your work though, forreal. Hope you had a good holidays, and have a happy new year! Looking forward to what you’ve got to say

Help! Final Fantasy Tactics Advance issue

<p>Hi there! New forum user here, but I've reached a tricky spot and am pretty clueless about how to proceed. Any and all help appreciated.</p><p><br></p><p>I'm using mGBA to play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and generally loving getting to play the game again (a game I never beat but want to), especially with the ability to speed up, etc.</p><p><br></p><p>However, FFTA is a game that at one point requires you to "save" in-game in order to proceed, which a) I think is impossible? and b) crashes my game.</p><p><br></p><p>Anyone have any idea how to get around this? This is a cruel place to be... I'm closer to beating the game than ever before and now I've reached a dead end!</p>
