The answer, as I was able to figure out, was that that was from 0.4.1. Try it with a nightly/development build to see if it still crashes. The crash is in code that tries to automatically load a patch, if present, and it's crashing because it has trouble figuring out where the ROM is located. That code was rewritten in the development branch, so it might not crash there.
