Spam 'Apply'

Im finding that the emulator isnt working, it loads ROMs n stuff but to get it to run which i spent an hour trying to figure out to fix it, I have to open settings and spam the apply button to get it run frame by frame, i am confused and just wanna play pokemon. Just before i posted i got it to work but only with fast forward on with unbounded but its way too fast.

This tends to happen if you have no functioning audio device. Switch it from Sync to Audio to Sync to Video and it should work, but you'll have no sound.
