How to copy saves from a game to another version?
#1
I want to switch from the Revision 1 Fire Red version to one where cheats actually work, and thus I want to copy my saves to the new version

How do I do this?

Duplicate the .sav file that has the same filename as the old ROM (but ends with .sav instead of .gba), and then rename the new one so it has the same filename as the new ROM (but again ends with .sav instead of .gba).

that did nothing sadly

I copied and pasted the old rom's .sav file and pasted it with the new rom's .gba name, but no saves appear once I load the new rom
