Gba file split into base game and ".sav" - Lucer35 - 06-11-2025
Hello, I foolishly loaded my near completion gba game file in mGBA. I typically play the game on my ez flash cart but in trying mGBA it split the file into the base game and a “.sav” file. Effectively ruining the game for both. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this please? This is all I play.

Use mGBA to run the .gba file with the original .sav file by:
Rename the .sav file exactly like the .gba file (eg: Pokemon.gba → Pokemon.sav).
Put both files in the same folder.
Open the game with mGBA, select File → Load ROM.

Flash carts don't embed the saves into the .gba file. They usually store them in a different folder called something like SAVE
