Controller Setup Help - TheLBOE - 12-19-2024
Hey There, I have a new ROG ally that I've set up with EmuDeck. I'm not new to emulation but I am new to EmuDeck and emulation station. I've started setting up mGBA and I can run the games just fine but I can't seem to change the controller layout. I've changed it from MGBA's settings multiple different ways and it works as expected if I open the room from mgba, but if I launch through emulation station I believe retroarch is overriding the controls. Is there any way I can have retroarch use the controls I've specified in MGBA or set the controls in retroarch as well? Happy to provide more information. Thanks!

I since found how to do this, every step of which was completely unintuitive. Open the game > open the on-screen keyboard > use f11 to open quick menu > go to controls > button by button switch which button on your controller activates which button in-game > Save the controller scheme as remap file for this core. Retroarch REALLY needs to change how that works
