I use a controller for mGBA and the emulator supports inputs even when I'm not tabbed in. Is there a way to also allow shortcuts to also do that? I sometimes use an OBS window for an overlay and need to tab back into the regular emulator window to fast forward, which gets pretty annoying after a while.

Go to mGBA → Settings geometry dash lite > Input and check if you can assign fast forward to a button on your gamepad. This way you don't need to use keyboard shortcuts anymore, and fast forward still works even if the window loses focus.
